95% of lawyers say generative AI will soon be essential for drafting.

Less than a quarter say they’re using it effectively right now.

That gap is your risk, but also your opportunity.

AI can streamline workflows, drafting, even research. But without the right processes, prompts and guardrails, it can cost you far more.

One hallucinated clause, one leaked client detail, one piece of unsubstantiated advice… And everything is undone.

Our AI Writing Training offers lawyers a better way.

We help you master AI as your legal drafting and research partner, not your replacement.
Protect your firm, amplify your expertise and stay ahead of the pack.

Stop waiting for AI to happen to you.

Start leading with AI now.

Trained by the person who wrote the book on it

2,000+ professionals trained across legal, financial services, higher education and government since 2023
The book Author of Smarter, Better, Faster: A Step-by-Step Guide to Writing With AI for Business (2024)
The stage AI writing speaker at Smokeball Spark 2026 and Leo Cussen Centre for Law’s AI for Lawyers conference

Every session is designed and led by Ralph Grayden - former commercial lawyer, senior copywriter for brands including Macquarie and ANZ, and featured in CPA Australia’s INTHEBLACK on human editing of AI-generated content. You’re trained by someone who uses these systems on live client work every day, not a facilitator reading someone else’s slides.

The Professional AI Writing System for Lawyers

Most AI Training starts and ends with prompts. Ours goes further, building a safe, repeatable AI Writing Operating System that turns your team into AI power users, not AI test subjects.

💡 Who’s it for? Lawyers and legal teams who want to become more efficient at drafting, in-house counsel, practice managers: anyone who needs speed and consistency without compromising accuracy or confidentiality.

🎯 What you’ll master. Workflows that use AI to reduce write-offs and free up billable hours. Guardrails that protect client data and prevent hallucinated ‘facts’. Prompts that actually deliver legal-grade outputs. Your team walks away more efficient, better and on-brand.

⏱️ Who delivers it? Ralph Grayden – ex-commercial lawyer turned big-brand copywriter, strategist and AI writing pioneer. He’s trained more than 2,000 professionals worldwide to write with AI without losing credibility or control.

Three formats. One outcome.

A team that’s dangerously good at maximising AI’s drafting potential.

AI could now underpin up to 90% of your firm’s writing

If it’s not already, you could be falling behind.

Used properly, AI can take the legwork out of contracts, reports and client updates – saving you serious time and money.

But used badly, it will create more risks than it saves.

Our AI Writing Training for Lawyers is specifically built to put you in control so that you get the benefits of this groundbreaking technology while eliminating the risks.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Streamline first drafts such as contracts, client updates, reports and internal notes
  • Protect confidentiality by anonymising inputs and utilising safe settings
  • Verify outputs so that you catch hallucinations, missing references and risky shortcuts
  • Lock in voice and quality and ensure every draft sounds like your firm, not like a robot
  • Set the human/AI split with clear rules for what to automate and what must stay human-driven.

In short, this isn’t for people who want to “play around with ChatGPT.”

It’s for law firms that demand speed, accuracy and compliance at scale.

How our AI Writing Training for Lawyers works

1. You choose the format.

From a quick 90-min upgrade to a full-day transformation, you decide how deep you want to go.

4. Your team levels up.

They’ll leave with a faster, sharper, compliance-ready way to draft – complete with templates, live-tested prompts and workflows they can use immediately.

Who delivers your AI Writing Training for Lawyers?

All our AI sessions are delivered by Ralph Grayden, co-founder of Antelope Media.

Ralph began his career as a commercial lawyer in Freehills’ employment relations practice before moving into strategy and communications.

His background means he knows the pressures legal teams face: accuracy, risk, credibility, and the weight of every written word.

Since delivering his first AI writing workshop in March 2023, Ralph has trained 2,000+ professionals worldwide, including lawyers, to use AI without sounding like robots.

In his 20+ years as a strategist and copywriter, Ralph has written for Microsoft, Macquarie, the Big Four banks and top-tier law firms, producing everything from contracts and compliance documents to advertising campaigns and financial services white papers.

When Ralph delivers an AI Workshop, you don’t just learn theory. You learn the system he has built, refined and battle-tested with real lawyers under real deadlines.

If your team writes, this training is guaranteed to reduce drafting time while protecting accuracy and reputation: safely, credibly and with workflows lawyers can trust.

Common questions about AI training for lawyers

Can AI training count toward lawyers' CPD requirements?

In most Australian jurisdictions, solicitors self-assess CPD against their practice needs, and structured training in AI drafting, verification and governance will generally align with recognised fields such as professional skills or practice management - typically one unit per hour of attendance. We provide session outlines and attendance records to support your lawyers’ CPD claims, and we recommend confirming treatment against your state’s current rules. Many firms schedule sessions in the first quarter to help their teams complete units before the 31 March deadline.

Is it safe for lawyers to use AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT for legal drafting?

It can be - with the right system. The risks are real but manageable: confidential and privileged material must never enter unapproved public tools, every citation must be verified by a human, and a lawyer must own the final work product. Our training builds exactly those guardrails: what can safely go into which tools, verification workflows for authorities and facts, and the review discipline that keeps accountability where professional obligations require it.

Do you run in-house AI training for law firms?

Yes, in-house delivery is our standard model. We run sessions at your firm (Sydney, Melbourne and nationally) or remotely, tailored to your practice areas, your approved tools and your firm’s real documents. We also run sessions as partner retreat and conference formats, as presented for the College of Law, Smokeball Spark 2026 and the Leo Cussen Centre for Law.

What does AI training for lawyers cost?

Fixed fees, quoted up front: sessions start from $2,075 + GST for a 90-minute masterclass, with half-day and full-day programs for teams building a complete AI writing system. Firm-wide rollouts and retreat formats are scoped individually.

What formats does the training run in?

Three formats: a 90-minute masterclass, a half-day workshop, and a full-day intensive that builds your firm’s complete AI writing operating system — workflows, prompt libraries and governance. Sessions run in person or remotely for up to 15 participants and larger groups can be accommodated in masterclass format.

Which AI tools does the training cover?

The principles are tool-agnostic: prompt design, verification and voice control work the same way across Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and legal-specific platforms. We tailor examples and exercises to the tools your firm has approved, and we can advise on tool selection if you haven’t yet chosen.

Can you help us develop a law firm AI policy?

Yes. The full-day program includes the governance layer most firms are missing: an AI use policy covering confidentiality boundaries, approved tools, verification requirements and sign-off rules, built with your risk and practice management stakeholders. A policy your lawyers helped build gets followed; one handed down from a template does not.

Do lawyers actually need training to use AI well?

Less than they fear and more than they think. Lawyers are naturally strong prompters: precision, scepticism and structured questioning are the core skills but most are using AI without a system. That means inconsistent prompts, no verification workflow, no voice control and no clear line on what’s safe. Training converts individual improvisation into a firm-wide capability, which is where the productivity and the risk protection both live.

How do we stop AI-drafted work sounding generic?

With voice rules and structural control, not luck. We show your lawyers how to encode your firm’s tone and drafting conventions into reusable prompts and templates, and how to edit AI output so it reads like your firm rather than like everyone’s. The test we teach: if a client could tell it was AI-drafted, it isn’t finished.

Who leads the training?

Ralph Grayden - a former commercial lawyer, author of Smarter, Better, Faster: A Step-by-Step Guide to Writing With AI for Business (2024), and AI writing speaker at the College of Law, Smokeball Spark 2026 and Leo Cussen’s AI for Lawyers conference. He has trained thousands of lawyers how to write both in-house and for organisations including the Law Societies of NSW, Tasmania and the ACT and the College of Law.
