Can AI training count toward lawyers' CPD requirements?

In most Australian jurisdictions, solicitors self-assess CPD against their practice needs, and structured training in AI drafting, verification and governance will generally align with recognised fields such as professional skills or practice management - typically one unit per hour of attendance. We provide session outlines and attendance records to support your lawyers’ CPD claims, and we recommend confirming treatment against your state’s current rules. Many firms schedule sessions in the first quarter to help their teams complete units before the 31 March deadline.

Is it safe for lawyers to use AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT for legal drafting?

It can be - with the right system. The risks are real but manageable: confidential and privileged material must never enter unapproved public tools, every citation must be verified by a human, and a lawyer must own the final work product. What formats does the training run in?

Three formats: a 90-minute masterclass, a half-day workshop, and a full-day intensive that builds your firm’s complete AI writing operating system — workflows, prompt libraries and governance. Sessions run in person or remotely for up to 15 participants and larger groups can be accommodated in masterclass format.

Which AI tools does the training cover?

The principles are tool-agnostic: prompt design, verification and voice control work the same way across Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and legal-specific platforms. We tailor examples and exercises to the tools your firm has approved, and we can advise on tool selection if you haven’t yet chosen.

Can you help us develop a law firm AI policy?

Yes. The full-day program includes the governance layer most firms are missing: an AI use policy covering confidentiality boundaries, approved tools, verification requirements and sign-off rules, built with your risk and practice management stakeholders.
